About The Treatment

How Spravato® Works

Spravato® (esketamine) is the first FDA-approved nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression. It targets the NMDA receptor to rapidly improve depressive symptoms through enhanced neuroplasticity — a completely different mechanism than traditional antidepressants.

Many patients across Nassau County and Long Island experience meaningful improvement within days of starting treatment at our Garden City clinic.

Many patients notice meaningful improvement within the first few treatment sessions — often within days. Some notice effects even the same day as their first dose.
No. The REMS program requires that you do not drive or operate heavy machinery on the day of treatment due to potential sedation and dissociation. You must arrange transportation home and avoid driving until the next day after a full night's sleep.
REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) is an FDA safety program required for Spravato®. It means treatment can only be administered in certified healthcare settings, and patients must be monitored for at least 2 hours after each dose. Da Vinci Health Center is a fully certified REMS site.
